Ceramic is more resistant to day to day damage such as scratches and denting. That said ceramic is very brittle. If you do manage to damage it the damage the ceramic the results could be a lug that falls off or some sort of shattering. Think hesalite vs sapphire crystal. This is my second Black matt watch ( first Panerai Gmt in 2021). Since november i weared the watch effectively 3 weeks due to a very very bad scratches experience, i would call it a weekly scratch experience. I do wear my watches in a office/business life. There is absolutely no give in a ceramic tile floor, so all the impact energy goes into the watch. If it hits at the wrong spot and the right angle then the ceramic case can break. Collisions with door frames and furniture and taps are lower energy impacts so are less likely to shatter the ceramic.
